Engineering Manager Foundations – Offshore Wind Industry

We are now looking for an Engineering Manager Foundations to guide and coordinate a dedicated sub-team of project engineers to achieve the successful execution of new foundation construction projects.
What will you do?
As our new Engineering Manager Foundations, you will take on a hands-on leadership role where you provide direction, structure, and support to a portion of the engineering team. You will ensure delivery of high-quality engineering work for offshore wind turbine foundation installations while collaborating closely with colleagues across engineering, package management, subcontractors, and clients.
In addition to your technical and project responsibilities, you will play an important role in people development and line management, ensuring your team members are supported, motivated, and growing professionally. You will also contribute to shaping best practices and supporting the Head of Department on workforce planning and budget activities.
Your main tasks include:
- Leading and coordinating a group of project engineering team members, while supporting their development and contributing to the team’s growth in collaboration with the head of the department
- Coordination with the drawing office and document control
- Defining and supporting the engineering management scope for wind farm foundation projects, collaborating with stakeholders on technical issues
- Ensuring project engineering scope complies with client requirements, industry standards, and legal regulations
- Supporting engineering budgets and schedules to align with procurement, fabrication, and offshore execution timelines
- Maintaining quality control and assurance throughout the engineering process
- Conducting technical design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP assessments, and lessons learned sessions
- Supporting offshore and onshore operations during fabrication, mobilization, and construction phases
- Contributing to the development and improvement of internal processes, guidelines, and standards for offshore wind turbine foundation construction
- Representing Cadeler to clients, subcontractors, and industry stakeholders throughout all project phases, from tendering to execution
- Carrying out line management responsibilities for your sub-team, such as 1-to-1s, leave approvals, workload balancing, and well-being assessments
- Developing training and development plans for your engineers together with the Head of Department
- Supporting the Head of Department in manpower planning, defining key results, and budget work

We are looking for a structured and motivating leader who can combine technical expertise with people skills. You should have experience guiding engineers, while also being comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, both technical and commercial.
We think you will be a good match if you have some of the following competencies:
- 10 years of experience in offshore construction projects
- An academic degree in mechanical, civil, or marine engineering/naval architecture, or a related field
- Proven experience in offshore wind farm foundation projects, either in construction, design, or procurement phases
- A solid technical background in offshore construction engineering and operations planning, such as heavy lifting, transport, jacking, and piling
- Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, documentation, and scheduling
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements
- Experience in leading and developing a smaller team of engineers, including performance management, coaching, and workload planning
